McCormick (illness) was placed on IR Tuesday, John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCormick was declared out indefinitely on Sept. 18 after failing his physical due to the presence of blood clots, an ailment that began last season and limited him to just 33 games in 2014-15. The Sabres didn't place McCormick on long-term IR, however, which is encouraging, as it indicates they may be expecting the 32-year-old winger to return to action sooner rather than later. Once healthy, McCormick is expected to assume a bottom-six role with the Sabres in 2015-16.
