In fact, McCabe hadn't even exceeded one shot on goal in a game since Nov. 25, further highlighting how rare outings like this have been. As a former second-round pick who's shown some offensive ability both in college and at the AHL level, McCabe does still have offensive upside, but the 22-year-old isn't playing the sort of minutes that'll help him realize it in the near term.
