D TOR
McCabe scored a goal and played 23:16 in Friday's 6-4 loss to Toronto.
It was a classic McCabe play. After gathering a bouncing puck off a broken breakout by the Leafs, McCabe calmly skated towards the goal, settled the puck, toe-dragged an on-his-knees Petter Granberg, and sniped it top shelf right under the crossbar over James Reimer's left shoulder. McCabe's offensive instincts and wrist shot are some of his strengths and also led the team in time on ice. He is obviously impressing the coaching staff despite coming into camp with just seven games of pro experience. The 20-year-old defenseman is on track to crack Buffalo's lineup. He could also feature on Buffalo's second power play unit.
