The monkey is off his back. Matthews has been carrying a heavy load in the Leafs' top six and facing some of the best that opposing teams can dress. That's a tough slog for a teenager in a man's league. Matthews got plenty of chances during his recent goal drought, but had been mostly unlucky. A little puck luck and he could start putting up more consistent points.
