Matt Read (ribs) might play on Thursday. Read suffered torn rib cage muscles on Feb. 20 and was projected to miss six weeks as a result. However, he participated in Thursday's practice and didn't stay on for extra work like a projected scratch often will. When asked about it, Read said that he wasn't sure if he was playing and that it would ultimately be up to coach Peter Laviolette and GM Paul Holmgren. If Read ends up playing on Thursday, it would be a remarkable accomplishment and welcome news to fantasy owners who weren't expecting to get him back until April.
