Matt Read continued his excellent rookie season, notching a goal and two assists in the Philadelphia Flyers' 4-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday night.
The Flyers charged out of the gates with four goals in the first period. The 24-year-old undrafted rookie began the scoring on the power play -- and now has 17 points in 22 games played this season, to go along with a plus-nine rating. Wayne Simmonds scored his fifth and had four penalty minutes, while Claude Giroux potted his 15th goal of the year. Scott Hartnell rounded out the Flyers' offensive for the night with a power-play marker of his own. Daniel Briere had two assists to give him 20 points on the season, and also had four penalty minutes.
