Matt Moulson notched two power-play goals and added an assist in the Islanders' 6-4 loss to Carolina on Monday night. The two-goal outburst snapped a five-game goalless drought for the 29-year-old forward. Despite the slump, Moulson has been productive this campaign with six markers and 13 points in 12 matches. He added five shots in Monday's defeat to give him 40 shots total on the year. Riding shotgun with star player John Tavares has its advantages, but Moulson deserves plenty of credit in his own right for being able to capitalize on his chances.
