Matt Ellis served as a healthy scratch for Buffalo's opening two games in Europe, but he will remain with the team for now. If he continues to watch games from the press box it wouldn't be surprising to see him sent down to Rochester though. Ellis appeared in 14 games with the Sabres last season, while spending most of the year in the AHL.
