Matt Ellis occupied injured center Ville Leino's spot on Buffalo's third line during Wednesday's practice. He will probably remain between Zack Kassian and Luke Adam in Friday's game versus Toronto. Ellis has one goal and two assists, along with 21 penalty minutes, in 21 games this season.
