Matt Duchene made a surprise appearance in Colorado's lineup Wednesday night after missing three games with an oblique injury. It was thought that he wouldn't be able to play earlier in the week, but he was upgraded to a game-time decision prior to Wednesday's match-up versus St. Louis. Duchene admitted that he wouldn't have played if Paul Stastny wasn't able to go because of back spasms. Coach Patrick Roy confirmed that when he said: "Matt was about 95 percent and when he saw that Paul was not capable of playing, he said, 'I'm gonna go.' Obviously, I would have liked to see Matt have a full practice before playing tonight, his first game back, but unfortunately, things like this happen, and you have no choice." He had three shots and logged 17:42 of ice time. Feel free to activate him.
