Mathew Dumba has experienced the inconsistencies that one generally expects from a young defenseman playing at the NHL level. GM Chuck Fletcher said he is unsure if Dumba is "an every-night player right now" and the Wild coaching staff has seemingly agreed with that statement, as the rookie blueliner has played in four of the team's first seven games. He can either stay with Minnesota or be returned to the junior ranks and the way things have gone so far he might be better served playing in the WHL with Red Deer. Dumba has averaged 13:09 of ice time, while recording one goal and seven shots.
