Mason left Saturday's start against the Bruins with a lower-body injury and will not return. The team will evaluate him further Sunday. Mason lasted just eight minutes into the first period, stopping all five shots he faced. The netminder had previously missed time with a back injury in December and required an MRI on an undisclosed ailment earlier this week, but the Flyers never considered giving him a day off after the latter injury. It's possible he might have aggravated something while hitting the ice during a save attempt Saturday, though nothing will be known for certain until the team reassesses his condition Sunday. Ray Emery replaced Mason in the net against the Bruins and would be in line for an increased workload if Mason is forced to miss extended time.
