Martin signed a four-year contract with Toronto on Friday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports. The deal comes with an average annual value of $2.5 million.
EDGE Analysis
Martin heads to new territory for the first time since the Islanders drafted him with a fifth-round pick in 2008. He's only produced 88 points (42 goals, 46 assists) in 438 games at the NHL level, but Martin is a punishing winger who will protect Auston Matthews, the first overall selection in this year's draft. He led the league with 365 hits last season, making him a must-own in leagues that heavily weigh that category.
