It's somewhat tragic that Markstrom's season will end as a result of a friendly skills competition but sometimes that's just how it goes in sports. After a hot start to the season in which he won his first three starts with a combined five goals allowed, the 27-year-old keeper was never able to completely regain his form and did not win consecutive games until his season-ending injury. He'll rehab his injured knee and will look to come back strong for the 2017-18 campaign.
