Marchand finished with a goal and two power-play assists in Thursday's 7-4 loss to Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
Marchand and Oilers center Connor McDavid entered this head-to-head matchup tied for second in the league points race at 76 apiece, and finish it sharing the lead after each notched three points here. The skillful agitator does have the goals lead all to himself, though, and he doubled his advantage over Sidney Crosby in that category by lighting the lamp for the 37th time in a wild first period that saw six pucks cross the goal line. Marchand also raised his power-play output to a career-best 21 points, which is a remarkable improvement for a player that had compiled just 25 points with the extra man over his first seven NHL campaigns.
