Marc Staal returned to the Rangers lineup after missing the last 27 games of the year. Staal suffered a gruesome eye injury on a deflected shot on March 5. He played 17:17, so it wasn't like coach John Tortorella eased him in. "I thought I would be more nervous than I was," said Staal, who wore a visor and finished a minus-one. "I felt pretty good going into the game, and I think the confidence is going to grow the more I'm out there and the more I'm in game situations. "I'll feel a lot better next game." Tortorella said that beyond his on-ice presence, he "really helps the room." His addition is a big one for the Blueshirts, as it deepens their defense.
