Marc Staal is expected to sit out all three of the Rangers' North American exhibition games due to headaches. He passed a baseline neurological test on Friday, but is still experiencing some lingering effects from the concussion he suffered against the Carolina Hurricanes on Feb. 22. "He can skate, he's cleared for contact, we just want to hold him back," coach John Tortorella said. "He's a very important guy and we want to be smart about this. I'd like to get him in a couple (pre-season games) overseas." Tortorella is encouraged by Staal's progress, but the team appears to be erring on the side of caution when it comes to their top defenseman. We'll keep you posted.
