Marc Staal (eye) skated on his own Tuesday but says his peripheral vision is not yet 100 percent. Staal was medically cleared to begin skating Tuesday, which is a huge step in his recovery. He hasn't played since he took a deflected shot just above his eye on March 5. Staal said he could play without his vision being 100 percent but reiterated there's no timeline for him to begin practicing or for his return to game action. It's possible Staal could return before the end of the regular season, but that seems optimistic at this point. Keep him sidelined for now.
