Marc Methot has signed a four-year/$12 million deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Methot will earn $2.25 million next season and then enjoy a $500,000 pay increase every season until his deal expires. That's more than we think Methot is worth, but he's hardly the only player to get overpaid this summer. Methot doesn't have any fantasy value, but to be fair, he is a solid defensive defenseman. He was second on the team with 176 hits and ranked third in Columbus with 98 blocked shots in 74 games last season.
