Luke Schenn, who will become a restricted free agent on July 1st, isn't likely to sign a contract extension in the near future. "There doesn't appear to be any urgency from their side," said Leafs GM Brian Burke. "They'll probably wait and see if other teams sign contracts that they think will help them. He's obviously an important player for us and it will get done at some point but I don't see any urgency to do it here." Schenn doesn't have much fantasy value, but he's a great defensive defenseman. He recorded 251 hits and 168 blocked shots in 82 games with the Maple Leafs last season.
