Look for the Red Wings to activate Brendan Smith (shoulder) from injured reserve prior to Tuesday's game versus Nashville. He's expected to be one of seven defensemen that Detroit will dress on Tuesday night because coach Mike Babcock figures he'll have only 11 forwards in the lineup.
