Kunitz tallied three assists Friday for the first time since Feb. 11, 2011 against Winnipeg. "Chris Kunitz had one of the best games I've seen him play in a long time," Pens coach Mike Johnston told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "He was skating and making plays."
The top line of Kunitz, Sidney Crosby and David Perron combined for eight points in a 4-0 win over Calgary on Friday. At 35, Kunitz may have lost step but he's playing his best hockey of the year right now. Keep in mind that it appears that he's the odd man out on Pittsburgh's top power-play unit when the team is healthy, though health has never been the team's strong suit.
