Kris Versteeg didn't practice Wednesday because of an unspecified upper-body injury which he sustained in Tuesday's loss to Washington. He was checked into the boards by Alex Ovechkin early in the first period and appeared to be hurt, as he lay on the ice for a few minutes. However, he returned to the game and tried to take on Ovechkin for the play. Versteeg finished the match with 13:38 of ice time and four penalty minutes. Coach Kevin Dineen called him questionable for Thursday's game versus Montreal.
