Klingberg was recalled from AHL St. John's on Wednesday, Ed Tait of the Winnipeg Free Press reports. After failing to claim a roster spot out of training camp, Klingberg has remained in the AHL all season, where he's collected 15 goals and 15 assists in 51 games. There's a chance Klingberg could play in Thursday's game against the Capitals, as both Mathieu Perreault (lower body) and Drew Stafford (upper body) are dealing with injuries that will force at least one to IR. Rather than inserting Klingberg into the lineup, coach Paul Maurice could instead opt to move Dustin Byfuglien over from defense to fill the void on the wing.
