Kevin Poulin kicked away 24 of 27 shots in the Islanders' 4-2 loss to the Hurricanes on Sunday night. The 22-year-old was making his first start of the season. With Rick DiPietro now in the minors, Poulin, who only had a 3.22 goals-against average and .904 save percentage in the minors, will now be groomed for a larger role in the NHL. Suffice to say, he's not in a very beneficial situation.
