Kevin Bieksa's 34 even strength points in 2011-12 were the second most among all defensemen. He managed to rebound from a sluggish start to the year and finish with a career-high of 44 points in 78 games. Bieksa collected just one assist and a minus-9 rating in the first 10 contests, but he concluded with a plus-12 rating. He was hampered by a slight muscle tear in his core area at the end of the season and it hurt his play in the playoffs, but he isn't expected to require surgery.
