Kassian was absent from practice Monday after being involved in an automobile accident early Sunday morning, Arpon Basu of LNH.com reports.

Kassian is reportedly no longer in the hospital after Sunday morning's incident, and is apparently only dealing with "minor injuries". The 24 year old's status with the Canadiens, however, is now up in the air, as his maturity level has been a question mark throughout much of his professional career, and Sunday's incident is yet another indication of Kassian's struggles to stay out of trouble. If the team decides to waive him, Devante Pelly-Smith or Jacob De La Rose will likely fill his spot on Montreal's Opening Night roster.
