Karlsson recorded three points for the second straight game Saturday, scoring a goal -- the overtime winner -- and chipping in two assists in a 3-2 win over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
It's no secret that Karlsson is the league's most prolific offensive defenseman, but he's been on another level this season, as his 32 points in 26 games will attest. His 26 assists lead the league while his 32 points have him in fourth in the NHL in scoring behind stud forwards Patrick Kane, Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. Could the Swede best his 78-point career high set in 2011-12? It'll be hard to keep up his current scoring rate of 1.23 points per game -- a pace that would haul in 101 points over a full season should it continue -- but his track record of sustained elite production certainly bodes well for his chances. Regardless, Karlsson is an absolute treat to watch on any given night and is a godsend to fantasy owners lucky enough to have him.
