Kampfer will make his season debut Saturday afternoon against host Buffalo, Joe Yerdon of NHL.com reports.

Kampfer will take the place of Mike Matheson, who appears to be a healthy scratch. This will be a big game for Kampfer, as he'll have a chance to see how his surgically repaired knee holds up to the rigors of game action. In August, the Michigan native said he played through pain last season; he was limited to 47 games, with four assists going down as his only points in that span.
