Kampfer, who was placed on waivers Sunday, remains with the team for the time being, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

In order to be sent down to the minors, Florida had to first waive Kampfer, but having cleared Monday, the team can retain him in the majors. The 28-year-old has suited up just once this season, so it seems likely he will be a temporary stand in until some of the injured Panthers are cleared to return.
