Justin Abdelkader was ejected from Team USA's quarterfinal match against the Czech Republic. He received five minutes for charging and a game misconduct for a high hit on Vladimir Sobotka. Even though the United States were eliminated by the Czechs from the tournament in the contest, he could be facing another suspension from the IIHF. He was banned for one game during the preliminary round for a knee-on-knee hit.
