Josh Harding's health situation adds complications to Minnesota's goaltending. He didn't play after Dec. 31 because of problems caused by multiple sclerosis, but he stated last month that he has no intention of retiring. Harding has one year left on his current contract, while Darcy Kuemper will be a restricted free agent in July and Ilya Bryzgalov will be unrestricted. The Wild also have Niklas Backstrom locked up for another two seasons, but he has struggled to stay in the lineup as well because of injuries. Who starts for the Wild on opening night next season should be considered a big question mark at this time.
