Jose Theodore, a long-time nemesis for the Boston Bruins, lost his magic touch Friday night as the reigning Stanley Cup champions thumped the goalie and his Florida Panthers teammates 8-0. Theodore could stop only 10 of 14 shots before being yanked in favor of Scott Clemmensen when the Panthers trailed 4-0. Clemmensen also allowed four goals, on 21 shots. Theodore's game previously was at his best against Boston. The veteran had defeated the Bruins six consecutive times and was 9-0-1 with a 1.59 goals-against average and .948 save percentage against them since the start of the 2005-06 season. He had defeated the Bruins for Montreal, Washington, Minnesota and the Panthers (18-10-7) during that span but he wasn't much in Boston Friday night.
