John Mitchell is day-to-day with the flu. Mitchell will not be available for Monday's game against the Phoenix Coyotes. He's been a pleasant surprise for the Avalanche this season with seven points in 10 games. Colorado is already playing without forwards Steve Downie and Gabe Landeskog due to injuries and they haven't been able to re-sign restricted free agent Ryan O'Reilly. "You got to go out there and play the hand you're dealt. We're fine. We can't worry about who's not here, who's not in the lineup," Avs coach Joe Sacco said. "We have to focus on what we can control and that's the players that are available to us."
