Johan Hedberg will play between the pipes in Friday's preseason game against the New York Islanders. Hedberg will start the season as Martin Brodeur's backup goaltender. That job doesn't usually come with any fantasy value, but Hedberg ended up playing in 34 games last season. If Brodeur stays healthy, Hedberg isn't likely to get much playing time, but Brodeur has missed a significant amount of time due to injuries in two of his last three seasons.
