Joey MacDonald has been dealing with a concussion, but he should resume playing for AHL Grand Rapids this weekend. Once he's healthy again, MacDonald will serve as the Red Wings' insurance policy in case Ty Conklin or Jimmy Howard get hurt. MacDonald had a 2.58 GAA and .917 save percentage in 15 games with Detroit last season.
