Joey MacDonald has been claimed off of waivers by the Calgary Flames. With Miikka Kiprusoff (knee) sidelined, MacDonald might have some very short term value. However, Kiprusoff might return as early as this week and if that happens, MacDonald will be the Flames' backup goaltender at best.
