Jeff Schultz cleared waivers Wednesday and will likely be bought out. Schultz will become an unrestricted free agent once the buyout is official and the Capitals will save $2.75 million on their cap for next season. Schultz played in just 26 games this season and didn't dress at all in the playoffs. He averaged just 14:15 minutes of ice time per game.
