Jean-Sebastien Giguere is expected to start on Monday against the Philadelphia Flyers. Semyon Varlamov's owners can take comfort in knowing that his back is healthy enough to play. On the other hand, they have to deal with the fact that Avalanche coach Joe Sacco would still rather start Giguere for a second straight game. Sacco's reasons for going with Giguere are obvious: Giguere has been great all season and he allowed just one goal on Saturday. Giguere has outplayed Varlamov and while the Avalanche seem to want Varlamov to be their number one goaltender, they will probably end up leaning more to Giguere if Varlamov doesn't rebound.
