Jason Spezza told the media on Thursday that his injury is indeed a hip flexor issue. "I just kind of lost my balance at the start of the second period on the boards and as I was falling I kind of pulled something," said Spezza who was hurt on Friday Dec. 27. "I finished the game and felt all right and thought I'd be fine the next day. Then I woke up and I was sore." He doesn't expect it to be a long-term problem, but he doesn't have an exact timetable in mind for his return and he won't play Thursday for a third straight game. Consider him day-to-day for now.
