Jakub Voracek knows he hasn't lived up to expectations this season.
"I don't want to make excuses that I got hurt in the preseason, because someone could say [that's why] I don't have a goal yet," Voracek said. "Obviously, I can be way better. I have three secondary assists in eight games. Everybody would have higher expectations. I'm trying to get to that level where I was in the preseason. I think these [practice] days will help me." Voracek is referring to the week off the Flyers had between their game on Oct. 17 and Thursday's contest against the New York Rangers. The time off has given the Flyers a chance to reset after their 1-7-0 and the same is true for it's struggling forwards, of which Voracek is one of many.
He says he was hurt in the preseason. Maybe he was really hurt in his offseason car accident and just refuses to admit it for liability purposes so he can get paid.
