Jacob Markstrom turned aside 25 of 28 shots in a 3-2 overtime defeat on Friday. Markstrom got a chance to play just one day after being yanked just three minutes in Washington's 7-1 win over Florida. Obviously, he was far better on Friday - it would have been remarkable if he had found a way to be worse - but unfortunately he still has only won one of his first five starts this season. Markstrom has plenty of upside and we wouldn't even give up on him in single-season leagues. At the same time, the Panthers have struggled mightily this season and that's likely to continue to hurt him.
