Jacob Markstrom has been called up with the Florida Panthers. Markstrom is expected to serve as Jose Theodore's understudy on Saturday because Scott Clemmensen is unavailable. Officially, Clemmensen is dealing with soreness, but there are rumors floating around that he's been shopped. If the Panthers did think that Clemmensen was on the verge of being traded, they would keep him from playing to prevent an injury. If that does happen, Markstrom would earn a permanent spot on the Panthers roster. Markstrom had a 2.05 GAA and .940 save percentage in five games during Clemmensen's absence earlier this season.
