Jacob Markstrom allowed the first shot he faced to find the back of the net for the third time in his last four contests. "You don't learn from your saves, you learn from your mistakes," goaltending coach Robb Tallas said. "Of course, I don't want to see first shots of games going in, but at the same time that will make him so much stronger." In the long run it could make him a better goalie, but for now it's hurting his team and severely weakening any limited fantasy value he has. Markstrom owns a 1-5-1 record with an .891 save percentage and a 3.29 GAA this season. He would make his appearances much easier on himself if he settles into games quicker, which is thankfully something he can learn.
