It is believed that Owen Nolan will announce his retirement on Tuesday.
Nolan participated in Vancouver's 2011 training camp on a tryout basis, but he failed to make the team. Nolan was originally taken by the Quebec Nordiques with the first overall pick in the 1990 NHL entry draft and went onto record 422 goals, 885 points, and 1,793 penalty minutes in 1,200 career NHL games. Nolan spent parts of five seasons with the Nordiques before the team moved to Colorado. He only ended up playing in nine games with the Avalanche before he was shipped to San Jose for Sandis Ozolinsh. Nolan also played for Toronto, Phoenix, Calgary, and Minnesota over the course of his career and he won a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics with Team Canada.
