It is becoming unlikely that Toni Lydman (shoulder surgery) will be to play in the Ducks opener in Europe on October 7. The Ducks open the season in Finland, Lydman's native country, but he has yet to be cleared for contact and stated that he wouldn't hurry back to play, even with games in Finland. Lydman had surgery in May and is close to returning but that will not happen until the Ducks return from Europe.
