It appears that the career of defenseman Andy Sutton is over.
The 38-year-old was hoping for a final season in Edmonton, but a knee injury during the lockout required his 12th surgery on his knees and his recovery is not going to allow him to play this season. "I just started working out three weeks ago, just rehabbing to see where I can take it, but I think my days on the ice might be numbered," Sutton said. "This was a decision that I didn't make, it was made for me. I had known this was going to be my last year, but I had hoped to go out the way I always saw myself going out. I'd have a little retirement party with my family and the whole shebang, so that's disappointing. I wish that would have worked out, but things work out the way they do for a reason." Sutton had a good NHL career and ended up with 38 goals and 150 points with 1185 penalty minutes in 676 games over 13 NHL seasons. We wish him the best of luck in the future.
