Raanta (upper body) will sign a two-year, $4 million contract with the Hurricanes on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.

Raanta has been plagued by injuries over the past three seasons, but he's been decent when healthy, going 25-25-5 while posting a 2.88 GAA and a .913 save percentage in 57 appearances with Arizona. Carolina is expected to sign Frederik Andersen to be its No. 1 netminder in 2021-22, but as long as he's able to stay healthy, Raanta should see 25-30 starts as the team's No. 2 option.
