Head coach Dan Bylsma told reporters Thursday Eichel (ankle) is ready to start taking full contact in practice, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.

Eichel won't travel with the Sabres for Friday's game against Washington, and instead will stay in Buffalo to continue his rigorous skating regimen, but appears to be nearing the completion of his rehabilitation from the high-ankle sprain he suffered in October.
