Hayes is slated to open the 2016-17 season on the Bruins' third line with Matt Beleskey, centered by Austin Czarnik.
EDGE Analysis
Hayes, who finished the 2015-16 season with 13 goals and 29 points to go along with a minus-12 rating in 75 games, is only an option in deeper formats, as long as he remains on the Bruins' third line. If injuries down the road usher him into a top-six role or power play duty, Hayes could emerge as a lineup option, but the 6-foot-5, 215-pounder has much to prove in his second season as a Bruin.
